The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has declared that Ghanaian youth are not merely the leaders of tomorrow but active changemakers shaping the present.
Speaking at the launch of the 2025 National Youth Festival on Friday, July 25, 2025, the NYA CEO emphasized the need to recognize the immediate impact young people can have in their communities and across the country.
“Our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the changemakers of today,” he affirmed, stressing the importance of empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to national development now, not later.
This assertion forms part of the guiding principles behind this year’s festival theme: “Igniting Potential; Inspiring Change.” According to the NYA, the month-long celebration is not just symbolic but an active movement to equip the youth with skills, platforms, and opportunities for real impact.

The festival aims to reinforce youth participation in governance, enhance ethical leadership, and provide training in entrepreneurship and innovation. The NYA CEO called on stakeholders to embrace the nation’s youth as partners in progress, stating, “When we ignite the potential of our youth, we inspire change that ripples through communities and transforms lives.”
