The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has warned prospective students and parents to be cautious of individuals and groups claiming to offer assistance with admissions, hall allocation and room bookings.
In an important notice dated September 16, 2026, the university said it had taken note of a growing number of social media posts, WhatsApp groups, websites and other online platforms claiming to provide official information, guidance or assistance on KNUST admissions and accommodation.
KNUST stressed that only officially designated university offices and platforms are authorised to provide information and guidance on admissions and accommodation matters.
The university therefore urged prospective students and parents to exercise caution when dealing with individuals or groups claiming they can secure admission, guarantee hall accommodation or arrange room bookings on their behalf.
“Do not send money, admission credentials, passwords or personal documents to anyone simply because they claim to represent KNUST,” the university cautioned.
KNUST admissions credentials are confidential
The university also reminded applicants that their KNUST Admissions Portal credentials are personal and confidential.
Prospective students were advised not to share their usernames, passwords or other login details with anyone.
For information relating to KNUST admissions, fees, accommodation and hall bookings, the university directed prospective students to use information published through its official website, knust.edu.gh, or contact the Admissions Office.
