The Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) has announced revised indexing guidelines and entry requirements for students seeking admission into allied health programmes in Ghana.
In an important notice dated September 28, 2026, the Council said the revised guidelines would apply to prospective students and training institutions offering allied health programmes.
Under the revised requirements, admissions into allied health programmes will be strictly science-based, among other provisions outlined in the indexing guidelines.
The Council also announced new cut-off aggregates for allied health programmes. The cut-off aggregate for degree programmes is Aggregate 12, while applicants seeking admission to diploma programmes must meet a cut-off aggregate of 36.
In addition, student enrolment at all levels must not exceed 50 students per class.
The AHPC has encouraged prospective students to verify the accreditation status of training institutions before enrolling in any allied health programme.
Training institutions have also been directed to ensure full compliance with the revised requirements and approved indexing guidelines.
According to the Council, student indexing will be based strictly on the stated requirements and approved guidelines. Institutions have therefore been advised to comply with all provisions to avoid unforeseen challenges during the indexing process.
The Council said a copy of the approved Indexing Guidelines is available on its website for training institutions and other stakeholders.
